Step 5.5 - Game Selection

So the game selection is getting pretty easy now the leagues per step is decreasing and the .5 posts are becoming redundant. However thought I'd do one more.

We had decided on Boreham Wood FC vs Maidenhead on the 20th October I had all the research done, a good half day of my life ironing out the little details and logistics. Great, email all typed up ready to send and inform the usual crowd the when and wheres, I'll just pop on the website double check KO time hasn't moved...nope still kicking off at 3pm but on Sunday in the FA cup! What followed was some swearing.

OK no problem just find out who has been knocked out of cup and is still playing that weekend in the same league, some half arsed organising later and the game was selected.

Sutton United vs Staines Town 20th October 3pm KO.

Everyone's a winner or not.

19th October atmosphere is building getting excited about first game of the season sitting in waiting room for routine doctors appointment, 8hrs later...

But this adventure of ours is bigger than just one man and the show went on. I have enlisted the help of one of the regulars (and now the only guy to have made all the scheduled stops, a few of us are doing substitute games for the ones we missed) will be taking up the mantle of the game write up. Big shoes to fill Al.
